The Ultimate Guide to Planning Your Custom Built-in Project
The Roadmap to Bespoke
Starting a custom cabinetry project is an exciting transformation for your home, but for many homeowners, the process can feel like a "black box." How do you get from a Pinterest board to a finished, white-glove installation?
This guide outlines the Case & Cove Roadmap. Our process is designed to be high-touch, low-stress, and entirely transparent, utilizing the latest 3D technology to ensure the final result is exactly what you envisioned.
Phase 1: The Vision & Strategy (Weeks 1-2)
Every project begins with a conversation. We discuss your lifestyle needs: Are you hiding clutter, displaying a collection, or creating a workspace? We review your inspiration and the architectural style of your home—whether it's a modern beach house or a historic downtown residence.
Phase 2: The 3D Render & Digital Twin (Weeks 2-3)
This is where the tech begins. We visit your home to perform measurements for a 3D rendering. This creates a mathematical blueprint of your room. From this data, we build your Digital Twin. You will receive a 3D link to "walk through" your design on your iPad, allowing you to approve every shelf height and finish choice with total certainty.
Phase 3: Precision Engineering & Shop Build (Weeks 4-8)
Once the digital design is finalized, the data is sent directly to our shop. Because we use the digital data for our engineering, the cutting is precise to the millimeter. While we build, we handle all material sourcing—from premium North American hardwoods to specialized European hardware—ensuring that every component meets our award-winning standards.
Phase 4: White-Glove Installation (Final Week)
The final phase is the installation. Following our "Clean-Room" Protocol, we fortify your home, manage all dust at the source, and execute the final integration. Because of our digital-first approach, our on-site time is significantly shorter than traditional contractors, returning your home to you faster and cleaner than you thought possible.
Your Role in the Process
A bespoke project is a collaboration. Your primary job is to define the "soul" of the space; our job is to handle the "math." By the time we arrive for the final install, you will already be familiar with the design because you've seen it in virtual reality—making the reveal a moment of celebration, not surprise.
